"Kangxin Trophy" 41st ACM International Undergraduate Program Design Competition was held on October 15-16th at Dalian Maritime University. The competition saw over 218 teams of over 700 participants from 133 schools in attendance, including Hong Kong University, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Peking University, and Tsinghua University. The competition was held with the support of IBM and Kangxin Partners.

Dalian Maritime University dean Xu Minqiang and other guests from the university were in attendance.
On the afternoon of the 15th, the opening ceremony of the competition was held, followed by a warm-up match. After five hours of competition on the second day, Beijing Normal University (A22) won the championship, Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (D26) won the runner-up and Wuhan University (E22) placed third. 21 teams, including Dalian Maritime University (F11), Dalian University of Technology (E20), Chinese University of Hong Kong (E05), Peking University (D03), Tsinghua University (D27) and University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (A25) 44 teams, including Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications (E19), Fudan University (D31) and Hong Kong University (B09) won the silver medal; including Northeastern University (C28), Huazhong University of Science and Technology (E37), PingCAP, Tongji University ) 66 teams won the bronze medal.

This was the second time the ACM-ICPC competition was held in Dalian, this time with much higher standards and more talented teams. Over the years, Dalian Maritime University has attached great importance to cultivating technological innovation talent, holding such competitions from 2012, including Kangxin Trophy, Huawei Trophy – National Students Intelligent Design Competition Finals, Northeast China College Programming Contest, and many others. Graduates of these competitions are welcomed by employers at home and abroad, some even becoming successful entrepreneurs.

The ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest (ACM-ICPC or ICPC) is sponsored by the American Computer Society (ACM), a program designed to demonstrate the creative ability, teamwork and preparation of undergraduate students, to test their analysis and problem solving skills in the annual competition. After nearly 40 years since its inception, ACM International Undergraduate Program Design Competition has developed into the most influential computer contest for college students.
