Recently, the Zhejiang Provincial Intellectual Property Administration and the Zhejiang Provincial Copyright Administration jointly issued the Guidelines on Intellectual Property Compliance for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises in Zhejiang Province (hereinafter the “Guidelines”), with the aim of strengthening IP compliance awareness and risk-prevention capabilities among SMEs within the province, and building a solid IP protection safeguard for innovation-driven development.
The Guidelines standardize requirements from two dimensions: basic IP compliance and key-area IP compliance. The former covers trademarks, patents, copyrights, trade secrets, and geographical indications, and specifies prohibited conduct and obligations for enterprises when applying for, using, and managing relevant IP. The latter focuses on e-commerce platforms, specialized markets, exhibitions, customs, and overseas scenarios, putting forward targeted operational compliance points and recommendations for responding to risks.
