Recently, the Jiangxi Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism announced the release of the Notice on the Publication of the Sixth Batch of Provincial Representative Items of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Jiangxi Province. A total of 88 new items have been added to the provincial representative list.

    The newly inscribed items cover a wide range of categories:

Folk Literature: 7 items, including the Story of the August 1st Uprising

Traditional Music: 8 items, including Xiangdong Flower Gongs and Drums

Traditional Dance: 2 items, including Qingyuan Xinwei Lion Dance

Traditional Drama: 4 items, including Wanzai Yang Opera

Quyi (Ballad Singing and Storytelling Arts): 2 items, including Poyang Drum

Traditional Sports, Recreation, and Acrobatics: 7 items, including Yue Family Boxing

Traditional Fine Arts: 9 items, including Yanshan Stone Carving

Traditional Craftsmanship: 35 items, including Ancient Ceramic Restoration Techniques

Traditional Medicine: 1 item, Thermosensitive Moxibustion Therapy

Folk Customs: 13 items, including the Wuyuan Autumn Sun-Drying Tradition

With the addition of this sixth batch, Jiangxi Province’s intangible cultural heritage list now totals 648 representative items.
