On April 18, 2018, at the invitation of Shanghai’s Tongji Universtiy International College of Intellectual Property, Kangxin Managing Partner Samson Yu taught a class for master’s students of the WIPO – Tongji University Program in IPR Law and the “Belt and Road” IPR Master’s Program.

Intellectual property has become an important factor in the competitiveness of countries and businesses, as it is a factor in every stage of production and operation.

Mr Yu gave a dynamic lecture on intellectual property and business management. He first described the intellectual property overseas expansion strategy of Chinese businesses and the competitive intellectual property field in the increasingly globalized world. He also described intellectual property strategies for businesses, types of intellectual property organizations and their management systems, the management of intellectual property in the entire cycle of business operations, and the impact of emerging technologies on the intellectual property environment. To conclude the lecture, Mr Yu shared cases of various intellectual property strategies. The three hour lecture was enlightening for the students, who expressed their gratitude following the end of the course.

In November of 2016, World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), State Intellectual Property Organization with the support of the City Government of Shanghai, and Tongji University College of Intellectual Property established the “Shanghai International College of Intellectual Property”. The school has gathered a number of well-known domestic intellectual property experts, scholars and a group of potential young scholars.
