Ms. Dong Wenqian is a Rotational Managing Partner and Patent Agent at Kangxin. She graduated from the Institute of Biomedical Engineering, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences and Peking Union Medical College, earning a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science degree. In 2018, she obtained an Executive MBA from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Since graduation, Ms. Dong has been with Kangxin, primarily responsible for patent-related matters in the field of chemistry, including patent drafting, mining, and training. In July 2009, she participated in a training program on U.S. patent law in the United States, gaining an in-depth understanding of the U.S. patent system.
Ms. Dong has solid theoretical and practical expertise in the chemical field, especially in pharmaceuticals. She is also well-versed in intellectual property law and has provided patent application and drafting services to numerous renowned domestic and international companies. She has published several academic papers in journals such as China Invention & Patent. In 2014, Ms. Dong contributed to the drafting of several books and guidelines, including the PCT Practical Manual, Practical Guide to U.S. Patent Applications, and Practical Guide to Indian Patent Applications. In 2023, she participated in drafting the Occupational Competency Evaluation Standards for Enterprise Trademark Management and the Training Outline for Occupational Competency in Enterprise Trademark Management, organized by the China Trademark Association, offering valuable insights and strategic guidance for the standards and framework.
Ms. Dong has been invited on numerous occasions to provide patent training for various enterprises and has delivered keynote speeches at intellectual property seminars and salons in cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, and Nanjing. She has also been appointed as a member of the inaugural committee of the "National Intellectual Property Youth Federation" initiated by the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA). Furthermore, she has served as a remote education tutor for WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization), been included in the Capital Patent Attorney Talent Pool, and selected by the Zhongguancun Intellectual Property Bureau as an expert in international intellectual property services. In 2020, she was recognized by the Beijing Intellectual Property Service Association as a Leading Talent in Intellectual Property Services in Beijing, demonstrating her commitment to advancing China's intellectual property development.
