Delhi High Court orders Chinese high-tech company to pay $26.1 million for patent infringement

    The Delhi High Court in India recently ruled that Chinese high-tech enterprise Mobi Antenna Technologies (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. must pay $26.1 million (approximately INR 2.17 billion) in compensatory damages for lost profits to the Canadian company Communication Components Antenna Inc. (CCAI) for infringing an Indian patent. The patent in question, Indian Patent No. IN240893, covers technology related to "Asymmetrical Beams for Spectrum Efficiency." CCAI noted that this judgment marks the first time such a significant amount has been awarded for lost profits in India, making it a landmark decision. CCAI, headquartered in Ottawa, Ontario, is a leading global provider of innovative wireless network equipment, with 25 strategic manufacturing and sales operations worldwide.
