Dec.9 -- Recently, the Symposium on European and Asian Patent Systems co-hosted by the State Intellectual Property Office of the P.R.C (SIPO) and the Eurasian Patent Organization (EAPO) was held in Beijing. Deputy Commissioner of the SIPO Zhang Maoyu and President of the EAPO Saule Tlevlessova attended and addressed the opening ceremony. Zhang Maoyu hoped that the two Offices could further strengthen cooperation and communication and collaboratively promote the reformation and improvement of the intellectual property (IP) systems in the two regions and even in the world; and that with combined efforts, the two offices could deliver efficient and convenient IP services to more IP users and benefit the IP industries, patentees and the public in different countries practically.

At the symposium, experts from the EAPO introduced in detail about the advantages of the Eurasian patent system, the procedures for patent substantive examination and electronic services and products. Over 50 people from related departments of the SIPO and enterprises attended the symposium.
