According to the official website of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), the “Deep Dive” series of activities under the initiative of empowering enterprises through scientific and technological achievements—namely, the Conference on Strengthening and Safeguarding Manufacturing Industry Chains through Intellectual Property—was recently held in the Western (Chongqing) Science City of the Chongqing High-Tech Zone. The conference brought together experts and scholars, industry guests, and representatives from industrial chains to conduct in-depth discussions on how intellectual property can empower the high-quality development of the manufacturing sector.

    It is understood that in recent years, MIIT has steadily promoted efforts to strengthen and protect manufacturing industry chains through intellectual property. The measures include: first, focusing on key fields to enhance capabilities in IP portfolio planning and deployment; second, strengthening promotion and application to improve the efficiency and benefits of IP transformation and commercialization; third, supporting enterprise innovation to enhance the effectiveness of IP services; and fourth, promoting exchanges and cooperation to optimize the environment for IP protection.

    MIIT stated that it looks forward to accelerating, through in-depth communication and pragmatic cooperation, the formation of a new landscape for IP protection and utilization that respects innovation, facilitates commercialization, and better serves a sound industrial ecosystem. This will provide solid support for building China into a manufacturing powerhouse and a cyber powerhouse. Going forward, MIIT will further bring together the strength of all parties to advance the work of strengthening and safeguarding manufacturing industry chains through intellectual property, thereby laying a solid foundation for building a manufacturing powerhouse and a cyber powerhouse.
